A comparison of the elastic recovery* of Schüco EPDM gaskets with other gaskets clearly shows that high-quality EPDM functional gasket material retains its high elasticity for a long time, and thus its beneficial properties in terms of protection against drafts, cold, moisture, and noise. Seals made of other materials lose a significant amount of their elasticity within the first few years of use and gradually become increasingly brittle and prone to breaking. After approximately 7 years, their sealing performance decreases by about 50%.
